Our client is a well-regarded, privately owned company delivering comprehensive, statewide fire protection services. Operating across Electrical, Dry Fire, Wet Fire, Pumps & Plumbing, Passive Fire and Maintenance, their work is aligned to Australian Standards, statutory requirements and industry best practice.

About the Role:

Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Fire Protection Technician to join their Passive & Maintenance division.

This role covers a combination of fire inspection & testing (I&T) and passive fire maintenance and repairs across a broad range of commercial and industrial sites throughout the Perth metropolitan area.

You will be responsible for ensuring fire protection systems and passive fire elements remain compliant, functional, and fit for purpose. This is a hands-on field role suited to someone who takes pride in quality workmanship, safety, and compliance. You will work both independently and as part of a skilled and supportive team delivering essential life-safety services.

What we need from you:

  • Carry out inspection, testing, servicing and maintenance of fire protection systems in accordance with AS 1851
  • Perform passive fire repairs and maintenance, including penetrations, fire-rated systems and building elements
  • Complete rectification works to ensure ongoing compliance with relevant Australian Standards
  • Accurately complete reports and documentation using tablet-based systems
  • Liaise professionally with clients, site contacts and internal teams
  • Identify non-compliances and escalate where required
  • Ensure all works are completed safely and to a high standard
  • Participate in infrequent weekend work and a rostered on-call service as required

What you’ll bring:

  • Proven experience in fire protection inspection, testing, maintenance and/or passive fire repairs
  • Working knowledge of AS 1851
  • Ability to work independently on site and manage assigned jobs end to end
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on safety, quality and compliance
  • Current White Card
  • Valid manual driver’s licence
  • Experience across both fire I&T and passive fire disciplines (highly regarded)
  • Experience using digital/tablet-based reporting systems (highly regarded)
  • Background working in commercial or industrial environments (highly regarded)
